Trying to wade through the Veterans Administration sea of rules and regulations can be daunting. Standing in long lines can be frustrating. And the VA knows it. That’s why on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014 the VA Hudson Valley Health Care System is presenting their 4-hour workshop, “Navigating the VA: Eligibility, Enrollment and My HealtheVet” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Mahopac Public Library Computer Lab. The creative and innovative workshop will show veterans how to accomplish their business with the VA online.
The Office of the County Executive often gets phone calls from veterans or their family members who are seeking assistance and don’t know where to turn.
“This is a great opportunity for our veterans, their family members or caretakers to educate themselves on the easiest and most efficient ways to handle their VA business. And it’s a local class so no one has to travel very far to attend,” said Odell.
The program is sponsored by the PFC Joseph P. Dwyer Vet2Vet Program of Putnam County. A light lunch will be served.
“This workshop is going to be a wonderful learning experience,” said Putnam’s Veterans Service Agency Director Karl Rohde. “We are trying to reach out to as many veterans as we can. I think this class will be very helpful.”
To reserve a seat for the workshop, contact Jessica Mazzucco at (845) 278-7600 ext. 214 or email her at Jmazzucco@mhaputnam.org.
The Mahopac Library is located at 668 Route 6 in Mahopac.
