The Tilly Foster Farm transition team has begun to examine options for the property and would like to hear suggestions and proposals from interested members of the public. With that in mind, County Executive MaryEllen Odell is calling for a facilitated forum where future possibilities for the farm can be discussed. The forum has been scheduled for Wednesday, February 26 at 4 p.m. in the meeting room at Spain Cornerstone Park.

“At this point, the transition team would like to hear constructive suggestions concerning very real possibilities that may well lead to determining Tilly Foster’s future,” said Odell.

Until recently, county-owned Tilly Foster Farm was under a lease agreement with Preserve Putnam, a not-for-profit organization funded by local philanthropist George Whipple. The lease was terminated earlier this month by the Putnam County Legislature after Whipple sought relief from his 40-year contract with the county.
