2016 STATE OF THE COUNTY
Partnerships and Business Development to Focus of Odell’s State of the County
Looking beyond borders and focusing on productive partnerships for social issues and business development were focal points of the 2016 State of the County Address given by Putnam County Executive MaryEllen Odell on Thursday, March 10 at Putnam County Golf Course.
Odell announced the proposed partnership between Putnam County and the City of Danbury for regional economic initiatives that will enhance public transportation, share recreational services and potentially expand the sewer system from Mill Plain Road in Danbury to Danbury Road in Southeast.
She also proposed the re-branding of Tilly Foster, a 199 acre county-owned property in Brewster, as The Tilly Foster Farm Educational Instituted.
Odell also spoke about the county’s commitment to raising awareness about cancer and battling the heroin epidemic that plagues the Hudson Valley.
“Together we care. Together we make a difference,” Odell said.
