Peak of Leaf Peeping Happening Now: Don’t Miss It

This is the seventh 2020 I LOVE NY Fall Foliage Report for New York State. Reports are obtained from volunteer field observers and reflect expected color conditions for the coming weekend.
Picturesque fall colors continue their progression across New York State, with vibrant peak foliage emerging in the middle and lower Hudson Valley. Putnam County spotters predict 60% color change and near-peak foliage this weekend, with bright yellow, red, orange, and purple leaves. Colors are emerging rapidly, particularly in the surrounding hills and banks of the Hudson River, which are filling in with spectacular autumn hues. Look for exceptional colors on display along Route 301, Route 22, Route 6 entering the Hamlet of Carmel and along the Taconic State Parkway. Enjoy a beautiful autumn drive around one of Putnam’s numerous lakes or reservoirs.

I LOVE NY urges travelers to follow all public health and safety guidelines, including wearing a face covering and maintaining appropriate social distancing.
