The Bureau of Emergency Services (BES) plays a crucial role in keeping Putnam County safe. One of the main missions and goals of BES is to provide help to local communities. Offering extensive training opportunities for firefighters, EMT’s and other first responder; while assisting in the coordination of emergency management efforts, providing support with specialized emergency apparatus and other equipment.

The Putnam County’s Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan and the Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Mutual Aid Plans establish protocols and provide guidance for all County municipalities.

Putnam 9-1-1 Emergency Communications Center provides a central communications center for EMS, Fire and Police.

In the case of an emergency first responders from town, villages, or the County will respond. These County, Town, and Village agencies may include but are not limited to:
