Putnam County Executive MaryEllen Odell was chosen to head the Mid-Hudson South Transportation Coordinating Committee (MHSTCC) during their July 24th Executive Committee Meeting held at the Westchester County Center in White Plains. She succeeds Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino as chairperson.
The mission of the of the MHSTCC is to provide the most reliable and affordable transportation while using best practices to utilize and leverage all available resources in order to minimize cost and maximize efficiency and to encourage those who live, work, shop and visit the region to use public transportation.
“I am honored to have been chosen to chair the committee,” said Odell. “I am pleased that my fellow committee members have such confidence in my abilities and I welcome the potential opportunity to initiate or accommodate similar activities such as we have implemented in Putnam at a larger regional level,” Odell said. “As chairperson, I will seek initiatives to move our region forward by means of improved highway and transit facilities in order to assist the people who visit or commute in and out of this sector.”
