Odell to Vets: Please Take the Survey
County Executive MaryEllen Odell is urging all county veterans and members of military families to participate in an online survey. The questionnaire was launched earlier this week by the Putnam County Communities That Care Coalition. The goal of the survey is to identify the specific needs and concerns of veterans and their families.
“I am urging all veterans and members of military families to take a few minutes to answer the questions on this survey,” said Odell. “The survey, which is anonymous – no one has to use their name – will be used as a guide to develop better programs, outreach and advocacy. Once the results are in,
The survey, a composite of 22 questions with multiple choice answers and space for a participant to give additional remarks, asks such basic questions as gender, age, race and level of education before requesting information on a time, length and location of military service. The assessment survey focuses on three main areas: access to healthcare, employment, and substance abuse prevention. Several questions seek input as to what programs or services a veteran would like to see expanded.
“This survey is simply intended to help us obtain a more accurate picture of the needs of veterans and military families in Putnam County,” said Coalition Coordinator Elaine N. Santos, M.A.
Veterans and members of military families with computer access will find the survey at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/H7QF6L8. Hard copies can be provided to veterans who do not have internet access by the Vetcorp Program.
