The Putnam County Department of Health is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Public Health Nurse (Spanish-Speaking).
This is a Competitive position under New York State Civil Service Law. Per NYS Civil Service Law any appointment to this position will be made on a Provisional basis, pending the future administration of a Civil Service examination. This is professional nursing work involving assessment of health needs, development of plan of care, and provision of health/wellness education for individuals and families. Responsibilities include periodic re-evaluation of individual and family as well as support of community nursing needs. Work may be performed at patients’ homes or in clinic settings. Special work duty outside of normal work hours (such as on holidays or weekends) may be required. Work is performed under general supervision of higher level Health Department staff. Additionally, this position requires the ability to speak, write and understand Spanish as well as English. Performs related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
PLEASE NOTE: Your degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

SALARY RANGE: $68,453 - $83,981 per year
SCHEDULE: Full-time, Monday-Friday
