Physical / Drug Screening Required / Second Shift 4pm - 12am / 16 hours per week/ Saturday and Sunday POSITION SUMMARY: Maintains the boiler room operations ensuring proper functioning of equipment in providing heat and hot water to the Maryknoll Sisters complex. Provides security for the residents, staff and property of the Maryknoll Sisters Center. Performs other general maintenance duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, LISTED IN PRIORITY: Operates and monitors power plant equipment in all locations as instructed, including the Cloister building. Regularly inspect all mechanical systems and records data as directed; cleans and lubricates equipment as required. Evening, night, weekend and holiday shift Watch Engineers responds to requests for assistance from Sister Residents and staff; correct the problems or contact the appropriate resource to correct the problems and provide report to the Facilities and Renovations Manager of work done in those off hours. Make regular rounds of building and ground according to established schedule; check that doors are locked as required for the shift. Night Watchman ensures that outer ground floor windows and doors are locked, lights are off as directed. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to communicate clearly (both written and verbal) in the English language. Must possess a valid New York State Driver's license and have the ability to drive a truck and a BOBCAT. Flexibility to work varied shifts as scheduled. Ability to work independently, and with others. EXPERIENCED REQUIRED: Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in boiler work or similar, related experience. MINIMUM FORMAL EDUCATION REQUIRED. High School Diploma. Trade school helpful. A combination of education and experience that meets the needs of this position.
