Mahopac, NY “At Home in America” is the theme of a new call for artwork for a virtual show coordinated by Mahopac Public Library. The pandemic of 2020 has compelled us to spend more time at home than ever before. “At Home in America” seeks to solicit a response from artists: how does the word ‘home’ resonate with you? What does it mean to be living in America right now, and can we find hope and beauty in our home, our town, our country?
Mahopac Library invites artists 18 and up to submit a maximum of two artworks in the following media of your choice: painting, photography, prints, book art, mixed media, and collage, as well 3-dimensional work in any medium. The work will be included in a video produced by the Library; it will be available on the Library’s YouTube channel as well as on our website and social media platforms.
Artists may submit a maximum of two high quality digital images: 300 dpi, (jpg or tiff format) to: firstname.lastname@example.org. Include your name, phone number, title of each piece, medium, and price (or NFS) in the email submission. DEADLINE FOR RECEIPT OF ENTRIES: January 10, 2021 @ 5:00 pm. The virtual exhibit will air from January 20 – February 26, 2021.
