11,853 NYSEG customers without power-PC Government Offices Will Resume Normal Operations 3/9/18

NYSEG & Central Hudson crews continue to assess and correct the damage that was inflected to the electrical distribution system from two major winter storms received within a week. Currently NYSEG reports that 11,853 customers are without power. NYSEG and Central Hudson crews remain in the field being assisted by mutual aid crews from Canada and across the northeastern United States. Crews work 17 hours on and 7 hours off as per safety guidelines. Customers that wish to report continued outage should contact NYSEG at 800 572-1131 or Central Hudson Gas & Electric at 845-452-2700.
All Putnam County Government Offices will resume normal operations Friday, March 9, 2018. “In order for us to continue to address the many issues facing our residents following these major storms, it is important that County Government be open to our residents who have needs or desire to conduct county business”.  Residents requiring assistance are encouraged to reach out to their local or county government offices on Friday.
Putnam County Transit Services (PART) will also resume its normal schedule on March 9, 2018. This includes ParaTransit Services. The Pre-K/EI program will follow Carmel School District for closure or delay, please check WHUD and the website for more information.
The Plumbing Board meeting scheduled for this evening is canceled. A new date will be posted.
“We are now into our 6th day of storm cleanup from 2 significant winter storms” said County Executive MaryEllen Odell, “Not only do we have residents that are still without power from the first storm but now we have added additional residents as a result of the second storm”. County Executive Odell continued, “While these storms were truly severe I am very dismayed by the lack of realistic restoration times, this is a matter that will be addressed by this administration, the state and the utility companies”.

Villa Barone Hilltop Manor in Mahopac will be open tonight 3/8/2018 to the public from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. They will be providing soup and a place to charge electronic equipment.
The American Red Cross, Putnam County and the Hudson Valley Cerebral Palsy Association will continue to operate a shelter at the Hudson Valley Cerebral Palsy Association, 15 Mt. Ebo Road in Brewster NY.

Town of Southeast town Hall from 7:00 am till 5:00 pm
Kent Town Hall from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Patterson Recreation Center from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm
Temple Beth Shalom in Mahopac from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
The travel ban on all Putnam County roads and Interstate highway restrictions was lifted as of 9:00am 3/8/18. While the travel ban has been lifted some roads may be closed for work crews, so please drive with caution due to down trees, wires and debris.
“Our dedicated emergency crews are still on the job removing downed trees and debris and our community is still enduring prolonged power outages, please take the time to check on family, friends and neighbors to make sure they are okay during this difficult time” said County Executive Odell
Putnam County 9-1-1 remains fully manned and should be used for any emergency requests for Police, Fire or EMS.
