PUTNAM COUNTY PERSONNEL DEPARTMENT’S MISSION is to administer, in a fair and equitable manner, the provisions of New York State Civil Service Law and Putnam County Civil Service Rules with respect to the offices and employments in the classified service of Putnam County and the civil divisions therein, which include the towns, villages, school districts, libraries and special districts. It is Putnam County Personnel Department’s responsibility to ensure Putnam County taxpayers of a public workforce qualified for their jobs pursuant to the principles of selection according to merit and fitness as set forth in Article 5, §6 of the New York State Constitution.

District Attorney’s Office
Bachelors degree (or equivalent credits) and 10 years experience as Police Officer/Deputy Sheriff, including 5 years as detective or investigator; or
Associates degree (or equivalent credits) and 15 years experience as Police Officer/Deputy Sheriff, including 5 years as detective or investigator.
Federal security clearance;
Excellent computer and analytical skills;
Proficient knowledge of audio/visual equipment;
Fluency in Spanish.

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AIDE:
Putnam County Department of Health seeks full time entry level person to work in the Environmental Health Division. Environmental Public Health experience desirable. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with at least fifteen (15) hours in natural science, of which no more than six (6) credit hours are in applied science; NYS driver’s license. Use of personal car may be required for field work.
Salary: $38,631 + benefits.
