Putnam County Highways & Facilities Department seeks a qualified professional to act as Chief Federal Project Coordinator for all federally funded efforts, manage financial resources and information for each project, and ensure compliance with all federal & state laws, regulations and requirements. a) Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management and six (6) years of experience with project management, construction management, construction contracts, and quality assurance/quality control procedures of complex transportation projects totaling $2 million or more; or

b) Level III Certification in Civil Engineering Technology issued by National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) in the area of Transportation, and at least one other area (i.e. Building Construction, Construction Materials Testing, Geotechnical, Land Management and Water Control or Underground Utilities Construction), and ten (10) years of experience as described in a) above.

COMPLIANCE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER WANTED

Putnam County Office of Consumer Affairs
The Office of Consumer Affairs is currently seeking a PT Enforcement Officer for ensuring compliance with trades licensing and registration requirements. Duties include patrolling Putnam County to ascertain that electrical, plumbing and home improvement work is being performed by licensed/registered tradespeople.  The incumbent will have enforcement powers to issue summonses to violators and will participate in all legal hearing proceedings.

Work week is flexible from 15 to 25 hours. Salary is $18/hour.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS include:

Graduation from High School or possession of a comparable diploma and 2 yrs. experience in building construction, or position requiring familiarity w/building/zoning ordinances and/or enforcement of same. Plus 6 months of experience using research investigative techniques.

Possession of a NYS Driver’s License at time of appointment and throughout employment.

Transports and provides personal security for the County Executive.

Minimum qualifications: Graduation from High School or possession of a comparable diploma and at least ten (10) years of police investigation work that involved significant, daily public contact and interaction.

Salary: $36,000
