Information about the Adopt-a-Highway program
We will send you the necessary documents to have your group participate. The 2
metal road-signs are free and will be installed free at both ends of your 1 or
more mile section of highway.
While we do appreciate donations and grants (to keep our work self-funding), we
will supply FREE the 32” long litter grabbers, large litterbags and safety vests
for each cleanup of the designated road. The filled litterbags will be picked up
free.
All we ask is that you do 4 cleanups a year along your chosen section of
highway.
Please note:
Notify me in advance of the scheduled cleanup so I can deliver the above
supplies and schedule the pick-up of the filled litterbags.
Each participant (adults only, please) must wear a safety vest. Hard hats will
also be provided.
Participants must walk facing traffic.
For press coverage of your cleanups, you might contact: Eric Gross, Putnam
County Courier, email:

Thank you for helping to Keep Putnam Beautiful.
Best regards,
Walt Thompson
