Statewide regulations (Subpart 72-1) for the operation of indoor tanning facilities that use ultraviolet (UV) radiation devices were adopted on October 7, 2009, and amended July 16, 2012. As a result, all UV tanning facility operators are required to obtain and display a valid permit to operate, and to meet the requirements contained in the regulation. A parental consent form is required for those individuals between 17 and 18 years old. Anyone younger than age 17 is prohibited from using UV tanning facilities.
