
March 25, 2013 – Food Operators Seminar
More than 150 food operators attended the 2013 Food Operators Seminar on March 25, organized by the Putnam County Department of Health. The Red Rooster Drive-In received the Lifetime Achievement Award, which goes to a food establishment that has demonstrated more than 15 years of exceptional food handling practices. The Red Rooster has been a landmark for five decades for those travelling Route 22 in Brewster. Other winners include the Riverview Restaurant and the Southeast Grille House. Both won Inspector’s Awards for consistency in superior food handling. The Roadhouse Bar & Grill, the Watchtower, and The Arch restaurant, along with six school cafeterias received Commissioner’s Gold Awards, and Applebee’s was awarded the Community Protection Award.
