Mission Statement
The Putnam County Health Department's mission
is to protect and improve the health status of Putnam County
residents through prevention of illness and injury. To this end,
the Health Department takes a lead role in health assessment and
planning, the development and implementation of programs focused
on priority health issues in the Putnam community, and health
education.
Working collaboratively with other organizations in the
community, whether from the public or the private sector, to
address gaps in health services and programs is a key role of
the Department. In addition, a primary role of the Department is
to ensure that under-insured individuals and high risk groups
have access to basic health services by referral to community
resources or by direct service.
The office is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm, except
during the summer (8am to 4pm)Home care services are on 24-hour
call, as well as during health emergencies, such as a disease
outbreak.
