County Executive
Robert J. Bondi
The
Putnam County Executive’s Office is led by County Executive
Robert J. Bondi. Mr. Bondi began his public service in 1979 when
he was elected to his first term as a County Legislator. He
served six terms in the Legislature, serving as that body’s
first Chairman, and then was elected to the position of County
Executive in 1991. Mr. Bondi was recently elected to his fifth
term as County Executive. Mr. Bondi has a Ph.D. in Corporate
Finance and Economics from New York University and completed his
Masters of Business Administration as well as his Bachelor’s
degree at Iona College. Mr. Bondi’s main function in the office
is to serve as Putnam County’s Chief Budget Officer which
entails formulating and administering the $200 million dollar
budget for the County. Mr. Bondi has received numerous awards
and recognitions over his 28 years of public service and he
continues to volunteer as an EMT with the Mahopac Fire
Department.
